Rolling out contactless payment technology often sounds simpler than it actually is. Whether a city is upgrading public transit, an EV charging network is expanding across borders, or a merchant wants better processing services, the operational reality is demanding. Organizations routinely deal with multiple vendors: one for terminal software, another for payment aggregation, and a third for acquiring processing services.
The Reality of Separate Payment Systems
When software platforms and acquiring banks work separately from each other, projects slow down. Integration timelines stretch from weeks into months, technical support becomes split among different teams, and operating costs climb.
To address this challenge, Bankart and Monet+ signed a strategic cooperation agreement focused on Central and Southeastern Europe. By pairing Switchio platform software by Monet+ with Bankart regional processing infrastructure, the partnership unlocks a key strategic advantage by enabling support for Slovenia’s domestic payment method FLIK. This provides a single connected foundation across five primary focus areas:
- Smart Transit Solutions: Built for midsized cities with populations between 500,000 and 2 million seeking open loop tap to ride payment systems without custom technical builds.
- EV Charging Infrastructure: Providing Charge Point Operators managing 50 to 500 stations with integrated contactless terminal technology and acquiring settlement.
- Integrated Fraud Prevention: Embedding the Bankart Shield real time risk scoring engine directly into Switchio payment solutions via API.
- Account to Account (A2A) Payments: Rolling out the domestic FLIK payment method in Q1 2027, allowing clients to seamlessly capture local market share and process native A2A transactions in Slovenia.
- Merchant Acquiring Optimization: Connecting regional merchants and payment providers to local acquiring channels to lower cross border transaction fees.
Leadership Perspective
Businesses shouldn’t have to manage multiple suppliers just to clear a transaction. By combining Switchio’s platform software with Bankart’s regional acquiring infrastructure, we built a single, unified engine. We handle the technical and operational heavy lifting behind the scenes so our clients can launch faster, reduce costs, and scale easily.

Our focus is giving transit operators, Charge Point Operators, and merchants a direct route to market. Linking specialized payment software with regional acquiring rails, including support of Slovenian national payment method FLIK, means our clients get proven integrations instead of starting technical builds from scratch.
